Jacob is a research analyst on the Type One deal team, focusing on uncovering emerging trends and breakthrough technologies across deep tech sectors. His diverse background spans biomedical engineering, software and hardware supply chain security, enterprise IoT, and entrepreneurship, allowing him to approach due diligence with a uniquely multidisciplinary perspective.

Jacob earned his master's degree in design, business, and technology from USC, complementing his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering. Prior to Type One, he spent over five years as a product manager at AXS, where he led initiatives bridging IoT, security, and user-centric software solutions. Earlier in his career, he consulted with Accenture, tackling digital transformation projects for highly regulated sectors such as financial services and government agencies.

Jacob's entrepreneurial journey includes co-founding an edtech startup and serving as a managing director for several creative collectives. Additionally, he actively contributes to his community in Long Beach, having served as a board member of the tech community nonprofit Uncoded and as a commissioner on the city's Economic Development Commission.

Driven by a deep curiosity about the intersection of neuroscience and technology, Jacob explores innovative applications of biomedical tech, including brain-computer interfaces and neurotechnologies for understanding and enhancing cognitive states. He is passionate about leveraging these insights to support founders developing transformative technologies that redefine human potential.

Outside of work, Jacob is an avid learner and explorer. He enjoys surfing, international travel, and diving into literature spanning philosophy, cognitive science, and economics. Jacob is committed to identifying and supporting visionary entrepreneurs whose innovations promise significant advancements in society
